OMNISYNCRetail

For grocery stores, mini-marts and supermarkets

A till that keeps up with the queue.

OmniSync Retail is a checkout and back office for grocers. Scan, weigh, take the money, next customer. Behind the counter it handles deliveries, stock, expiry dates and the cash-up at the end of the shift.

What it does

Everything below is in the app today. Plan limits are on the pricing page.

The till

Full screen and built for a keyboard and scanner. Scan or type a barcode, PLU or SKU and press Enter. Scan the same item again and it adds to the line. Type 3 * then scan to sell three.

Every key is printed on its button, so new staff learn them by using them. Works on a touch screen too.

Weighed items and scales

Sell by the kilo, gram or pound. The till asks for the weight, or you type it before the PLU. Labels from deli and meat scales are read for the item and its price or weight. A misread label is refused, not guessed.

Items
  • Several barcodes per item, including pack barcodes that sell 6 or 24 at once
  • Cost, sell price and margin side by side
  • Departments with their own tax class and an optional age check
  • Quick keys for things without a barcode: produce, bakery, loose sweets
  • Import from a spreadsheet. Problem rows are shown before anything is saved. Tested with 5,000 items in one file
Buying and deliveries

Build a purchase order by scanning, or add everything running low for that supplier, rounded up to whole cases. When the van arrives, scan each item off it. A case barcode adds the whole case. Record batch and expiry dates for anything perishable, and update cost prices from the delivery.

Stock
  • Stock and value at cost per store, with low stock and below zero counts
  • A full history for every item: sales, refunds, deliveries, adjustments, transfers and counts
  • Waste, damage and out of date stock written off with a reason
  • Stock counts by scanning, for the whole shop or one department
  • An expiry list, and the till sells the batch that expires first
Shifts and cash

Open a till with a float, close it with a cash count. The shift report shows sales, cash, card, refunds and any difference. Cash and card can be split on one sale, and the change shows before you finish.

Refunds and approvals

Refund from a receipt at the price it was sold at, or without one at today's price. Voids and price changes can need a manager PIN. You choose which. Every void, price change, refund and age check is logged.

More than one shop

Each store has its own stock and tills. Send stock between stores: it leaves when sent and arrives when the other store receives it, and any shortage is recorded.

Till keys

The keys your cashiers will use most. Each one is shown on screen next to its button.
